ABOUT DARKEST HOUR – PAST, PRESENT, AND FUTURE

“Darkest Hour: Europe ’44-’45” is a modification for Tripwire Interactive’s award winning game, “Red Orchestra: Ostfront ’41-’45”. Darkest Hour’s focus begins with the Allied landings in Normandy on June 6th 1944 through until the end of World War II in the European Theater of Operations.

The mod was originally established as “Darkest Hour: Normandy 1944” in November/December 2006 with the first public beta released on June 6th, 2008 (to coincide with the 64th anniversary of D-Day).

In order to reach a wider audience, the game was subsequently re-released with a massive content update and code overhaul via Steam on June 9th, 2009 under the current title: “Darkest Hour: Europe ’44-’45”.

The developers plan to provide support for Darkest Hour in its current incarnation through the Autumn of 2011.
